Warmest welcome! I’m so glad you’re here with me as we dive into the world of all things vintage frame upcycling. This entry's focus is one aspect of the framing process in particular - using Artglass rather than regular glass in each of my framed prints.

Firstly, a quick note on what Artglass actually is. Artglass is a type of glass that has been crafted using various coatings to decrease glare and reflection and protect your print from UV damage. By incorporating Artglass into each framed ornate artwork, your piece will be able to be viewed from any angle, regardless of its placement in your home, allowing great versatility as you style your chosen piece.

So now you know a little about this type of glass, I'd love to share a few of the reasons why I go the extra mile to source this material for each framed Ardith piece:

  1. Protects the artwork: Artglass is specifically designed to safeguard your artwork from dust, UV rays and environmental factors that could cause damage to your print or mat board.

  2. Enhances the print colours: It dramatically boosts the colours of your artwork by blocking out glare, allowing you to view every detail without reflections getting in the way.

  3. Durable and easy to clean: With a scratch-resistant coating, it’s super easy to maintain - just a quick wipe with a microfibre cloth keeps it looking good as new!

  4. Eliminates optical distortion and green tint: Artglass has a neutral colour tint, so only 1% of reflections may be visible, giving you a crystal-clear view even when positioned next to a window.

Hopefully this journal entry has been helpful in discovering why this special glass makes such a difference in ensuring your art piece stays as beautiful as the day it left our doorstep!
